90/10 principle
I have read 90/10 principle for Steven Covey, I liked it much and Iiked to share with you,Discover the 90/10 Principle. It will change your life (at least the way you react to situations). What is this principle?
10% of life is made up of what happens to you. 90% of life is decided by how you react. What does this mean?
We really have no control over 10% of what happens to us. We cannot stop the car from breaking down. The plane will be late arriving, which throws our whole schedule off. A driver may cut us off in traffic. We have no control over this 10%. The other 90% is different. You determine the other 90%.
How? By your reaction. You cannot control a red light. However, you can control your reaction. Do not let people fool you; YOU can control how you react.
Let us use an example: You are eating breakfast with your family. Your daughter knocks over a cup of coffee onto your business shirt. You have no control over what just happened. What happens next will be determined by how you react. You curse. You harshly scold your daughter for knocking the cup over.
She breaks down in tears. After scolding her, you turn to your spouse and criticize her for placing the cup too close to the edge of the table. A short verbal battle follows. You storm upstairs and change your shirt. Back downstairs, you find your daughter has been too busy crying to finish breakfast and get ready for school. She misses the bus. Your spouse must leave immediately for work.
You rush to the car and drive your daughter to school. Because you are late, you drive 40 miles an hour in a 30 mph speed limit zone. After a 15-minute delay and throwing $60 traffic fine away, you arrive at school. Your daughter runs into the building without saying goodbye. After arriving at the office 20 minutes late, you find you forgot your briefcase. Your day has started te rrible. As it continues, it seems to get worse and worse. You look forward to coming home, When you arrive home, you find small wedge in your relationship with your spouse and daughter.
Why? Because of how you reacted in the morning. Why did you have a bad day?
A. Did the coffee cause it?
B. Did your daughter cause it?
C. Did the policeman cause it?
D. Did you cause it?
The answer is “D”.
You had no control over what happened with the coffee. How you reacted in those 5 seconds is what caused your bad day. Here is what could have and should have happened.
Coffee splashes over you. Your daughter is about to cry. You gently say, “Its ok honey, you just need to be more careful next time”. Grabbing a towel, you rush upstairs. After grabbing a new shirt and your briefcase, you come back down in time to look through the window and see your child getting on the bus. She turns and waves. You arrive 5 minute s early and cheerfully greet the staff. Your boss comments on how good the day you are having.
Notice the difference?
Two different scenarios. Both started the same. Both ended different.
Why? Because of how you REACTED.
You really do not have any control over 10% of what happens. The other 90% was determined by your reaction.
Here are some ways to apply the 90/10 principle.
If someone says something negative about you, do not be a sponge. Let the attack roll off like water on glass. You do not have to let the negative comment affect you! React properly and it will not ruin your day. A wrong reaction could result in losing a friend, being fired, getting stressed out etc.
How do you react if someone cuts you off in traffic?
* Do you lose your temper?
* Pound on the steering wheel? A friend of mine had the steering wheel fall Off)
* Do you curse?
* Does your blood pressure skyrocket?
* Do yo u try to bump them?
WHO CARES if you arrive ten seconds later at work? Why let the cars ruin your drive. Remember the 90/10 principle, and do not worry about it.
You are told you lost your job. Why lose sleep and get irritated? It will work out. Use your worrying energy and time into finding another job.
The plane is late; it is going to mangle your schedule for the day. Why take out your frustration on the flight attendant? She has no control over what is going on. Use your time to study, get to know the other passenger.
Why are stressed out? It will just make things worse. Now you know the 90-10 principle. Apply it and you will be amazed at the results. You will lose nothing if you try it.
The 90-10 principle is incredible. Very few know and apply this principle.
The result? Millions of people are suffering from undeserved stress, trials, problems and heartache.
We all must understand and apply the 9 0/10 principle.
It CAN change your life!

I have learnt a lot from you!!!
Last thrusday after Salat El Zoher there is something happened made me feel happy, I were walking with two of my colleagues, one of them were telling the other,"Do you know Ahmed, although Nyazy is younger than me with 4 years and although I didn't work with him much but I have learnt a lot of things from him", you don't imagine how proud I were when I have heard these words, I were very very glad that someone has learnt something from me.
Reset Your Mind
A lot of times I hope I have a reset button like any computer or machine so I can reset my mind,Is it strange?!
yeah I'm talking seriously, I believe every person has a brain (processor) and memory (RAM) capcity that highly affected by different situations, so he will need to reset his mind to be able to refresh his mind, resort thoughts and take the right decision,
for me I claim I have a not bad capacity in brain and memory (El 7amed llellah) but when I face a lot of situations with extra details I hardly need to reset my mind, I'm usually doing that by sleeping!!!
yes, sleeeeping, after a short sleeping I feel I have reset my mind, I can re-organize my thoughts and many new ideas come to me.
to be honest with you, I haven't any scentific proof for that, but really I believe sleeping is considered my personal reset button.
El 7amed llelllah that we have this Ne3ma :)
Last day in QuickTel
Last thrusday was my last day in QuickTel, I have Joined QuickTel 14/8/2005 so I have spent more than 2 years there; I can remember my first days in QuickTel, when I have joined Class 5 Switch team, I were the youngest developer as all of them were engineers, so all of them were older than me; el 7amed llellah our lovely FCI has planted a self confidence inside us, so I have joined QuickTel team with a lot of self confidence in technical and non-technical prespective, so i weren't feel worry or a fraid from working with old engineers, but i were always trusting my technically and personal skillsBut in other hand I can't deny that I have learnt a lot of things inside QuickTel, people there are very nice, kind and clevers; el 7amed llellah I have left them without making conflicts with any of them, of course sometimes I were missing control of my self and being nervous in work but generally I have a very good relationship and friendship with people there :)
Because of All Engineers in quickTel were older than me, most of them were looking at me as a young man with a little experience, but by the time I have gained their trust, all my team leaders, project managers and my colleagues were believing I were very effective and a key person in my work;
El 7amed llellah for all of things, I believe that without Allah support I weren't make anything in my life, so el 7amed llellah 7amdan kathyeeern mobarken fi8,
and I pray Allah for supporting me too in my new work

Fear of change
Human by default has a resistance for any change, regardless this change is good or bad, always he fears from change, and prefers to stay in comfort zone. For me, I have met a lot of people have this feeling, and I were always supporting them by advices, opinions, ...etc to overcome that bad feeling, and el 7amed llellah they overcome it successfully, but unfortauntely in sometimes I'm failing to do that because lack of communication channels, so I have nothing to do with them, unless they take a step and ask me for advice, opinion, ...etc so I can have a communication channel with them; asking why do you worry?! then we can try to resolve conflicts, and wash out all negative feelings.
May Allah guid us to the right direction

Different interests
One of my best friends (llell2saaf) OzO, he is a young senior software developer working in Harf company, all the day he is playing with mobiles, ringtones b2a, games, backgrounds and screen savers ta7t 2sm Symbian programming ;)
Although OzO my friend 6 years ago, but our interests are totally different, you can see that by checking his blog, it’s full of political and history posts while I’m interesting in human development and social posts;
you can imagine when we decided to visit book fair, he has bought books for Hitler(Kefa7y), Mohammed Hassanien Hayekel and other historical book, while I have bought books for Salah El Rashed, Tarek Swedan, Ibrahim El faky and other human development books (body language, communication skills…etc)
Although we have different interests, but we have minimum conflicts (el 7amed llellah J ); he has a baby mind, so sometimes he insist on strange things :D, but to be honest with you, I were the problem maker in most of situations ;)

I'm feeling sad :(
Yesterday I were making interviews in FCI-CU for people whom wanna to join Oracle company (under ESEA umbrella). In interviews, I have met clever people, and in the same time I have met NOT clever people, but this is not the issue, while interview I have met someone FCIans graduate (2003) cairo university,
I were surprised, as we supposed fresh graduate and that man has 4 years experience :O
I have started the interview with him by simple questions, technical and non-technical and after a short time I realized why he wanna to get this job
He joined Army Service in 2004 as an officer for 3 years and he has just finished the service in the begining of 2007;
he nearly has no professional experience, plus army pushed him to lose 90% from his technical skills, after short minutes, I were totally sad, I were frustrated not because he joined army, but because they have taken him and didn't make anything useful with his knowledge, JUST they push him to forget everything he has learnt in FCI :((
of course ma7desh 3arf el 7`eeer feeeen, but I were very disappointed, and I were totally eager to let him pass the interview but unfortunately he is unqualified :((
Finally, I have give him some advices about different tracks he can take, and needed skills for each track and asked him whether he wanna to ask about anything, then he left!
I'll have extra interviews in next tuesday and thrusday isAllah, I hope to not face the same situation once again
May Allah help us (ALL) to find the right direction!!!
